Sam Howard Shoemaker, 61, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home in Big Bow, KS. He was born March 26, 1957 to Robert L. and Betty M. (Butler) Shoemaker in Guymon OK.

Sam attended school at Red Rock Elementary in eastern Grant County. As an adult he work for City Service and then later Williams Brother’s Gas. He enjoyed carpentry work and remodeling homes for a living. He spent many hours watching his beloved KU Jayhawks especially during football season. He loved his dog, Foxy.

He is survived by his children, Bobbie Hotler of Lincoln, NE, Josh Shoemaker and wife Ashely of Lincoln, NE, Taylor Woodruff of North Dakota; four grandchildren; his mother, Betty Shoemaker of Big Bow, KS; a sister, Sherry Thompson of Ulysses, KS; brothers, Joe Shoemaker of Lebo, KS, Dan Shoemaker of Ozark, MO, Jon Shoemaker of Big Bow, KS.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Shoemaker.

Cremation was entrusted to Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Sublette. A private family inurnment will take place at the Stanton County Cemetery at a later date.
