COPELAND - CPT (R) Terry D. Cash passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. He was born December 15th, 1962 to Joyce Cash (Holmes) and Clyde Cline Cash in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married Gina Joy Unruh on October 8th, 1983 at the United Methodist Church in Copeland, Kansas. Terry was a graduate of Collinsville High School, Collinsville, OK, and a graduate of Friends University, Wichita, KS.  
 
Terry proudly served his country in the Kansas Army National Guard for 23 years. Terry attended Basic Training in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in 1984 and worked his way up the ranks as an Artilleryman. In 1987 he graduated from Officer Candidate School Class XXXI, Kansas Military Academy in Salina, KS, receiving the top honors of Distinguished Graduate and the Erickson’s Trophy for distinguished leadership and academic ability. Terry’s abilities and leadership style granted many opportunities for him to work in tandem with all service branches and be attached to numerous Battalions of the 35th Division. Before retiring at the rank of Captain, Terry received numerous service medals and achievements.  
 
Terry is a lifetime member of the Copeland American Legion Post 369, The National Guard Association, The United States Field Artillery Association, The Military Officers Association of America, The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, The Pickle Barrell Club and The National Rifle Association. Additionally, Terry is a licensed commercial general contractor.
 
Terry was a partner and Vice President of D & D Builders, Garden City, KS, a Regional Sales Representative for Kustom Building Inc., Moore, OK and most recently a Postal Clerk at Fowler Post Office. He is a Certified Lay Minister for the United Methodist Church and has been a District Superintendent Assignee to the Offerle United Methodist Church for the past 6 years and assisting with pulpit supply for the Ensign United Methodist Church.      
 
Terry enjoyed traveling and is remembered by his family and close friends for his spontaneous and adventurous road trips. Terry and Gina also enjoyed cruising, meeting new people and experiencing other cultures together. 
 
Terry is survived by his wife Gina of the home; three sons, Zachary Cline Cash (Casandra) of Tulsa, OK, Wesley Dee Cash (Tiffany) of Broken Arrow, OK, and James Wayne Unruh (Breanna) of Mulvane, KS; Daughter, Krysta Joy Cash (Kevin Palmer) of Luray, KS; Mother, Joyce Cash of Owasso OK; Brother, David Lee Cash (JoLynn) of Owasso, OK; Father-in-law, Leslie Unruh of Copeland, KS; sister-in-law, Cherry Cash of Collinsville, OK; Grandchildren, Kadence Palmer, Keira Palmer, Titus Cash, Michael Cash, Maxwell Cash, Grace Unruh, and Abbigail Unruh.
 
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Clyde Cline Cash; a brother, Darrell Ray Cash; and a nephew (son), Jonathan Unruh; and close friend and mentor, MAJ Jimmy Plummer.
 
Visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2018, 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Sublette, KS. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
 
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, at the South Gray Jr. High Gymnasium, Copeland, KS with the Rev. Don Hasty presiding. Burial with honors will follow at Fort Dodge Veterans’ Cemetery.
