Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Gertrude. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

Dearest Weidner family and especially Kim, my bf from all those years ago. Your Sublette home was my home away from home and I can't possibly recount how many overnights I spent there. Gertrude was a quiet force in my life as she expertly marshalled being a farm wife while being a mother to 5 kids. Our families had that in common - 5 kids, good grief! How did our mothers do it? I'm not sure what gave her the grace to accept yet one more into the fold when Kim kept inviting me and I, of course, kept accepting. Not that my own home and Mom weren't wonderful, but the Weidner household was a magical place indeed. Please know that my heart is joined with your hearts as you go through this difficult time. I know you will be sharing many precious memories with one another as you celebrate Gertrude's beautiful life and spirit. With much love, Janice Shaw Martin

Weidner Family-
I have so many fond memories of Aunt Gert growing up. She was a quiet but strong presence that perfectly complimented Uncle Pill. I hope you find peace in your loving memories of her.
With Love-
Heather

Dear Weidner family, So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing-my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your Mom was always such a classy lady. I will forever be grateful for the friendship that was shared with your parents and ours. Thanks for sharing your peaches, remembering the friendship of Kim and Janice, eating the homemade potato chips when our whole family was invited to your home and Dad loved to tell the story about your parents coming to see them in Parsons and going to see "Big Brutus". Sincerely hoping that sweet memories can sustain you in this time of grief.
Deepest sympathy with love, Sue Shaw Messerly - Thursday July 12, 2018 via Memorial Candle
