Condolences

Condolence From: Mike and Nancy Leathers
Condolence: The work is all done and now it is time for the roses. I'll cherish many great memories of Ida Jo. Pumping rolls of music through our player piano with my mother and Tommy Ungles and singing like there was no tomorrow. The Whiffenpoof Song was a favorite. When it came time for the chorus, Ida Jo took the lead in bellowing out "baa baa baa".

Perry was good friend of son Bobby and spent a lot of fun times with them in there home and I spent many hours with IdaJo learning to play piano. Wonderful memories! Perry will always be glad he went by to see her with friend Mike Leathers on Sunday of SataNta Day weekend. They had a great visit. You will be missed Ida Jo. Love and prayers to you all.

Condolence From: Mark Lamar
Condolence: Our family - Bob and Ethel Lamar are/were our parents - visited Kansas in 1957 and I went again with Frank, Marnie, and Susan Lamar in 1964. While visiting Pat and Dean Davies and Debbie and Janelle, in Garden City, we traveled to Sublette and I stayed a while with the Faurots, who were welcoming and lovely.
A few remembrances: Ida Jo, who looked like the very pretty Great Aunt Mabel, her mother, providing hospitality and warmth and conversation to a 14 year old second cousin visiting from NY; riding with Bob Sr., on a huge tractor at 5:00 AM; attending Bob Jr.'s baseball games with Barbara and the family, and also driving around (really fast - you could in that wide open place)in their awesome 1964 Buick Wildcat.
The Faurots were a great family, my family, for that week.
Love to Barbara and grandchildren and Bob's wife,
Mark Lamar

Condolence From: Paul Lamar
Condolence: To the family of Ida Jo:

My name is Paul Lamar, and I'm the oldest son of Bob Lamar (94), a cousin to Ida Jo Faurot (her mom, Mabel Lamar Watkins, was my dad's aunt).

Our family took a trip to Kansas in 1957, when we met Ida Jo, Robert, and family. Her name has been on our lips for over 50 years because we kids remember her for her vivaciousness and warmth. My brother Mark, four years younger than I am, later spent a memorable summer in Kansas and probably has even more vivid recollections of Ida Jo.

The obituary mentions her love of, and talent for, music, and music has been a passion of many of the cousins! My dad played the French horn; my uncle Herb played the trombone; Uncle Frank and Aunt Pat played the flute; and Uncle Stan sang.

We think of you and the family with great affection--and we send our deep condolences to everyone who knew and loved Ida Jo.

Paul

Condolence: Jo you will be missed so much. I loved visiting with you during piano lessons. Which were only suppose to be for an hour, but by the time we talked and solved the world's problems they were 2 to 2 1/2 hours long. I loved hearing your stories about your kids, husband and grandchildren made me feel like I had known them my entire life. Keeping your family in my prayers.
