Obituary for Jean Thiemann (Nuckolls)

Jean Thiemann (Nuckolls)
Alice Jean (Nuckolls) Thiemann died October 15th, 2016 at her home in Sublette, Kansas. She was born on October 15th, 1925 in Burdett, Kansas to William Almarine and Florence Elizabeth (Hanna) Nuckolls. On October 25, 1944 she married Dr. Alfred Henry Thiemann in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1989.

In 1944, they moved to Sublette to start a medical practice. In 1953, they built and opened a 12 bed hospital, where she served as the administrator. After Dr. Thiemann's death, Jean assisted her daughter Ellen in operating Ellen's Photography.

She is survived by her daughters: Ellen Thiemann-Hoerman and spouse Lawrence of Sublette; Lori Gerard and husband Matt of Dodge City; granddaughter, Megan Gerard of Wichita; brothers, Don Nuckolls and wife Martha of Burdett and Cecil Nuckolls of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 18, at 10:00 am at the Haskell County Cemetery.
