Obituary for Roger Kent Meyers
Roger Kent Meyers, age 72, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016, in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on October 31, 1943, in Ashland, Kansas to Ellen Coral (Hadley) and Frank W. Meyers. He married Mary Elaine Steadman on August 18, 1967.
Roger spent most of his life working with horses and livestock. He worked as a pen rider and passed his love of roping to his kids and others. He was involved with 4H and the Haskell County Fair for many years. Later in life he worked in different capacities for USD #374.
He is survived by his wife Mary; sons, Kent and his wife Erin of Fairmont, Minnesota, Kurt and his wife Amanda of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Kristi Hoke and her husband Jason of Garden City, Kansas; grandchildren, Grace, Ella, William, Hayden, Taylor, Jack and Jackson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Meyers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 4, from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1547 Road 190, Sublette, Kansas 67877.
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 5, 2016, 10:00 am at the Sublette United Methodist Church, Sublette, Kansas. Graveside Services will follow at 3:00 pm at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kansas.
