Obituary for Scott Bradley Smith

SUBLETTE - Scott Bradley Smith, 56, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at his Mother’s home in Sublette, KS. He was born February 1, 1962 to Fred Charles and Mary “Kay” Katharine (Axline) Smith in Sublette KS.

As a kid, Scott was an active Boy Scout and a member of the Soul Seeker’s 4-H Club. He spent many hours racing go-carts and making friends that would last his lifetime. Scott loved music and later played the french horn and served as Band President his Senior year. He graduated from Sublette High School in 1980 and continued his education at Liberal Area Vocational School, obtaining his certification in Welding and Auto Parts Management. After receiving his education, Scott fell in love with farming and spent most of his time on a tractor. In his spare time you would often find him bowling, watching Nascar or drag racing on TV. He enjoyed hunting and had a passion for collecting cars.

He is survived by his mother, Kay Smith; a sister, Diana Metzler and husband Don of Palisade, CO; nephews, Monty Metzler, and Brent Metzler of Palisade, CO.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Smith; his grandparents, Laverne and Edith Smith, and George and Mable Axline.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory with the family receiving friends from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Friday, May 11th, 2018 at the Sublette United Methodist Church, with Russ Branden officiating, and internment will follow at Banner Cemetery.
