Russ Branden was the perfect person to “preach” Scott’s service. Scott had been a dependable part of the Lark Band in the way a key athlete comes through for a coach. Scott was one of the nicest men I ever knew. I never heard him say a mean thing about anyone. He seemed to like everyone he met, and they liked him. A year ago, as we pulled in at the Co-op to fill up w/fuel Scott pulled in. It was Saturday afternoon and nobody there but us. I told Kit I wanted to say Hi to Scott and she finished filling the car. Scott had been telling me of all the problems his cancer had caused him when Kit walked up to us and said, “Scott, can we pray for you right now?” I had wanted to say that but didn’t have the courage to ask him. Scott told Kit, “Please do, and thank you!” Then he put his arms around us and hugged us, saying, through the tears, “I’ve never realized how many people love me till lately and it feels really good to know so many care.”
What a great guy you’ve been and Diana’s letter to you was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard. We love ❤️ you Scott. You will be sorely missed!

We had a great time growing up together, racing to be the first to get 100 miles on our identical bicycles with cissy bars, racing go carts, going to Dodge to the races and dragging main listening to music. I always enjoyed seeing him during the fair even if I had to go find him on the tractor. He was a good friend and I will miss him. Rest In Peace my friend.

Scott was a great friend of mine in School. We saw and did allot in those years. From Racing Super Modified in Hutch for the Nationals, to running go karts in Garden with our transport vehicle El Camino, to just kicking around waiting for the next task at Murphy's Farm. Ton of memories. And above all we keep out of jail. Always enjoyed the local racing in Dodge and Liberal. Especially our families friendship thru the years.

Hate to have you gone now. Soul of Peace! In God's Hands.
