Verna Lucille  Ridgeway (Ewy)
Verna Lucille (Ewy) Ridgeway, 88, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City, Ks. She was born November 20, 1927, to Susanna O. (Hirschler) and Jacob R. Ewy in Hanston, Ks. She married Robert W. “Bob” Ridgeway in July 1, 1956, at the Hanston Mennonite Church in rural Hodgeman County. Bob passed away April 27, 2001.

She began her corporate career in 1950 as a secretary with KG&E in Wichita, Kansas. She held several titles as she worked her way to a Vice President position, later retiring in 1990. Verna enjoyed cross stitching and cooking. She was an active member of the College Hill United Methodist Church during her years in Wichita.

She is survived by her niece, Kenna Ackerman; nephews, Lynn Myers, John Ewy, Dennis Ewy, Steve Myers, Roger Ewy, Mike Ewy and Stan Ewy.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob; sister, Alice Myers; brothers, Kenneth Ewy and Ralph Ewy; nephew, Larry Myers.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village Chapel with Pastor Ryan Riley presiding. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm in Marena Township Cemetery, Hanston, Ks.
