Patrick Joseph (Bubba) Burton, 51, died suddenly Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Satanta District Hospital, Satanta, Ks. He was born March 5, 1965, in Hutchinson, Ks to Sandra Sue (Miller) Burton and William “Bill” James Burton, Sr. He graduated from Sublette High School in 1983. He married Shelly Jean Smith on November 8, 1997.
He was member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of the American Legion Squad #205.
Bubba had a love for the outdoors and often you would find him hunting pheasant or deer, fishing and even playing golf. He cheered on Notre Dame and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a fan of Nascar and even had the opportunity to take some laps around Texas Motor Speedway. Bubba worked hard so he could play hard! Bubba had a trusted circle of friends. He was always there for his friends and his family. His love for Shelly and his son, Alex is everlasting.
He is survived by his wife Shelly; a son, Alex Burton both of Sublette; parents William “Bill” and Sandra Burton of Dodge City, Ks; a brother, Bill Burton, Jr., Swan Valley, Idaho; a sister, Teresa Burton of Dodge City Ks; nieces, Meghan Burton and Whitney Tidwell; a nephew, Joshua Graner.
Visitation is Sunday, March 13, from 1-6pm and Monday, March 14, from 9am-5pm at Weeks Family Funeral Home, 1547 Road 190, Sublette Ks.
Rosary and Vigil Services will be Monday, March 14, 7pm at the St Alphonsus Catholic Church, Satanta, Ks.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016, 10am at the St Alphonsus Catholic Church, Satanta, Ks, with Fr. James Dieker presiding. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery.
